Overview
War of Words is a free Android word-puzzle and tactical-combat game from GottaPlay. Connect letters to build words, then use the letter colours to charge attacks, shields and healing. Equipment choices and the timing of abilities add a strategic layer to each battle.
Modes and languages
- Campaign: 24 encounters across six realms, with equipment to unlock.
- Endless: successive enemies, with a boss every fifth wave.
- Daily Challenge: a two-minute word challenge with online rankings for eligible players.
- Six word languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Serbian. Word and menu languages can be selected separately.
Price, offline play and age features
The game has no in-app purchases. Eligible players can choose rewarded ads for up to three Endless continues per run. Campaign and Daily Challenge practice work offline. Ranked challenges and public leaderboards require internet access and age 13 or over. The developer describes the game as intended for ages 9 and over; under-13 and unknown-age players use offline features without ads or continues. Regional store ratings may differ.
Available now on Android. An iPhone version is described as coming soon, rather than currently available.
